Here in Bangkok and in fact in whole of Thailand new year is celebrated three times on 1st January ,in February/March as the Chinese New Year and the Thai New Year or Songkran in April.

It is believed that the Chinese God of Wealth , Choi Sun appears this time and blesses everyone.
