Queens Birthday

Queen's Birthday, Bangkok is celebrated on 12 th August and this is national holiday as the whole of Thailand is granted a holiday to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikrit .This day is also celebrated as Mother's Day in Bangkok.

The Queen's Birthday in Bangkok is celebrated for five days and even the private companies and retailers, merchants as a mark of honor display large portrait of the Queen Sirikit in the streetsof Bangkok. The Ratchadamnoen Klang Road is fully illuminated with fairy lights.

The flags are hung up in Bangkok which display the Queen's colors , giant portraits of the queen are hung and the festivities start from 9 th August only and culminates on 13 th while on 12 th August the city immerses in celebrations.

In the Queen's Birthday in Bangkok on 12 th August the town officials make offerings to the religious leaders in the Royal Palace in a solemn ceremony . Then people assemble at the city temples for a grand religious ceremony.

Queen's Birthday ,Bangkok also involves festivals, traditional dance, music concerts and shows as well as the illumination of the whole city.The fairy lights keep on glowing on the central aisles of the main road on Rattanakosin Island, which leads to the Grand Palace.
