Bangkok Bus Service

The bus can be an inexpensive, but crowded, way to get around Bangkok, but without a map it can be totally confusing.

There are four types of public buses in Bangkok with different ranges of fare, depending on the types of the bus. Usually the various types of buses are the ordinary buses, the air- con buses, the micro buses and the green minibuses. The micro buses are the most preferred as it ceases taking up passengers once every seat is occupied. Although traveling by bus is quite cheap and convenient, one should always be careful about belongings especially on crowded ordinary buses.

Public buses are bountiful and inexpensive with 3.50 Baht minimum and 5 Baht maximum fares to most destinations within metropolitan Bangkok. Air- conditioned buses within Bangkok have minimum and maximum fares of 6 and 16 Baht respectively. Red and grey Micro-Buses, also air conditioned, cost 20 Baht for distinct journey. A Bus Route Map is obtainable at most hotels, bookshops and the TAT head office for 35 Baht.

A modern highway system reaches into all corners of the Country. Domestic bus services offer fast and comfortable means of travel. For more comfortable journey avail the Air-conditioned coaches.

Bangkok's Northern/Northeastern Terminal is located on Kam Phaeng Phet 2 Road.

Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal is on Pinklao-Nakhon Chaisri road.

Bangkok's Eastern Bus Terminal is on Sukhumvit Road.
