Chatuchak Park, Bangkok is counted among one of the older public parks in Bangkok. The land for the construction of this park was donated by the State Railway of Thailand and the construction was initiated in 1975. The park was made open to the public in 1980.

Chatuchak Park, Bangkok sprawls across considerably large area and offers plenty of open space and shade. In fact it is the biggest park situated in North Bangkok. The park features large grounds, a jogging track and a lake where you can rent rowing boats. The artificial lake runs along the park with numerous bridges crossing it. The Chatuchak Park, Bangkok also incorporates a train museum.

One of the major highlights of the Chatuchak Park, Bangkok, is the weekend market that is the undisputed king of all the major markets in Bangkok. The market occupies about 35 acres of land with over 15,000 shops and stalls. You can expect to get almost everything right from household accessories, handcrafted items, books and music to antiques, live animals, food and plants. The amount of items on sale and the buyers thronging the market are almost directly proportional. This sometimes gives the market a claustrophobic feel. The park is however a great place to chill out after your shopping jaunt.
