Ancient City, Bangkok is a historical theme park spread over 320 acres of land. It's a curious and innovative way of preserving the Thai cultural heritage. Touted as the world's largest outdoor museum, Ancient City, Bangkok features the replicas of important buildings from around Thailand. Ancient City, Bangkok is miniature Thailand in essence with careful attention being paid to situate the monuments in exactly the point they are located in Thailand. Among the buildings that the visitors get to see in the Ancient Park, Bangkok, some are reconstructions of buildings that are no longer extant. Others exemplify the traditional vernacular architecture. They entire process of their construction was supervised by experts from the National Museum. The recreation of the former Royal Hall of Ayutthaya is something to be marveled at. Apart from the impressive display of royal history, you will also get to see how the typical Thai houses used to be in the past at Ancient City, Bangkok. Among the actual architectural structures purchased by the park is the wooden “wat” located in the north of the park. The beautifully adorned and exquisitely carved temple is very different from the temples that exist in Thailand today. Taking a walk round the park might be a daunting task and you might as well feel the need to refuel yourself. That's when the various eating joints dotting the island chip in with lip smacking Thai food. The Ancient City, Bangkok is still in the process of constant expansion and improvement.
