Church of the Immaculate Conception in Bangkok was built by the Portuguese in the time of King Narai's rule in Bangkok. There was a civil war during the reign of King Rama I and 500 Cambodians took shelter in this place. There are still the successors of the Portuguese and Cambodians who live in the church locality. Arch Bishop Lano has given the name of the church. Church of the Immaculate Conception, Bangkok was reconstructed in 1837. Within the territory of the newly built church there is the old church known as Wat Noi. The church now has become a museum which has a range of church antiques and remains.
