Lingam Shrine was constructed by a well established business man. He created this shrine to give tribute to a female spirit called Jao Mae. It is the spirit of fertility and it is believed that she stays in the Banyan tree of that place. Lingam Shrine is very famous among the young women who seek fertility. There is a myth among them that in the past a woman gave some gifts to the shrine and she became fertile. So this made the local women to believe strongly about the strength of the spirit.
