Bangkok serves the best authentic Thai cuisines in the world. Although majority hotels have excellent Thai restaurants, the food is too often intended primarily for foreigners and lacks the authenticity and real taste found in some of the city's independent Thai restaurants. It also has an exceptional flair. Grapes, for example, make their way into numerous dishes and add a sweet and cooling contrast to traditional Thai spices. It also stores some excellent variety of wines which would serve as an excellent appetizer for your main course. There are a variety of superb salads on the menu, but many people seem to prefer the Yam Som-o, a pomelo salad served with shrimp and bits of chicken. It provides a wonderful blend of sour, sweet and spicy flavors. Others go for the beef salad: a mixture of sliced warm beef, chili, lime, and fish sauce that is topped with sliced grapes.Seafood plays an important role at the restaurant and several of the dishes come along with soft shelled crabs. The food is strictly Thai, and the dishes are explained well by the English-speaking waiters. The service is generous and friendly.
