Ko Samui Population

Ko Samui, an island travel destination off the coast of Thailand has come a long way from its sleepy-fisherman's-island days. Today, Ko Samui's population has crossed the 45,000 mark, pointing to an upsurge in economy. The economy of Ko Samui has been fuelled by an ever-growing tourism industry. In all, the people of Ko Samui show a healthy tolerance for each other's beliefs and practices and live in harmony.

The people of Ko Samui speak Thai. However, foreign tourists will not be out of place in Ko Samui, as staff in the major hotels and other joints frequented by foreigners understand and speak English. The people of Ko Samui are a gentle lot and always ready to help. This makes foreign tourists feel instantly at home away from home.
