Diving in Krabi

Diving is the sport of gymnastically jumping into water. It has been an internationally-recognized sport that is part of the Olympic Games. However, during your trip to Krabi, a formless and non-competitive diving will surely prove to be a common recreational pastime in places where swimming is popular. Diving in Krabi is one of the favorite pastimes of the tourists in this small southern province of Thailand.

Local marine life that you'll see when you're diving in Krabi is both varied and fertile with over 200 types of fish and 80 species of coral structure.

If you want to see large schools of barracuda and small groups of squid, the Ao Nang dive site is ideal for you. And early in the morning leopard sharks are often found lazing in the sand.

Koh Si vies with Yawasam for the best snorkeling site in Ao Nang. Though the dive sightings are common, however, brief they are as the shark usually runs away from humans.

Since Koh Yawabon is subject to strong currents, divers are reminded that penetrating overhead environments requires particular preparation and gears.

The large island of Koh Talu boasts two shallow swim-throughs that are appropriate for most levels of divers.

Koh Yawasam is blessed with large areas of shallow coral and flat areas of sand, but boasting deeper water with coral and sandy patches a short swim away, Yawasam could have been built with dive instruction in mind!
