Every year thousands of people come and discover the charm of Krabi, and get
enticed so much co that many keep coming back for more. It won't be totally
inappropriate to call Krabi "the laidback corner of Thailand", which offers
some of the kingdom's most beautiful and plenty of natural attractions for the
tourism. However, to say that there is a serene callous air about Krabi does
not translate to mean that it is a bore. Nightlife in Krabi though relaxed is
lively and far from absent.
Though most visitors enjoy the beautiful scenery of Krabi by the day, as the
sun touches the horizon, lively crowd gathers at the bars and pubs to enjoy
a drink in the evenings. With most of the tourists in town looking for a place
to relax, there is not much call for wild parties or raucous nightclubs, which
can be amply provided by other destinations like Bangkok, Phuket's Patong beach
or Koh Pha Ngan. In Krabi, the most exciting nightlife can be found on Phi Phi
Island and around Ao Nang, the favorite haunt for party animals who dig for
a big night out.
There are a number of karaoke bars around Soi 2 and Sois 7 and 11 of Maharat
Rd. in Krabi town. Hostesses can be invited to join the table for a drink and
maybe a song. The atmosphere in these karaoke bars is quite perky and refreshing
and it's a good place to come whether you're male or female. The tourist clientele
is usually quite mixed, with couples, singles and groups of friends - and both
sexes are welcome. For the singles, nighttime entertainment in Krabi can be
found mainly in Krabi Town and in pockets of Ao Nang Beach.
