Institute of Marine Science Aquarium and Museum

Institute of Marine Science Aquarium and Museum Pattaya is also known as The Bangsaen Institute of Marine Science (BIMS). Institute of Marine Science Aquarium and Museum is affiliated with Burapha University and is located near Bangsaen Beach. The Bangsaen Institute has a supreme research facility. It also houses a museum and an aquarium along with the laboratories. Institute of Marine Science Aquarium and Museum Thailand exhibits the marine environment and focuses on the different aquatic species. It is divided into three components: Marine Aquarium, Marine Science Museum and Marine Science Laboratories.

The species of aquatic animals found in Institute of Marine Science Aquarium and Museum are mostly native to the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. The aquarium, originally funded by a grant from the Japanese government in 1982, features a large collection of fish, crustaceans and marine vegetation native to Thailand. Both the aquarium and museum are open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm from Tuesday through Friday and on public holidays. Admission fee is only 20 baht. A wonderful day of exploration and excursion from Pattaya is to visit some nearby Tourist attractions like Institute of Marine Science Aquarium and Museum. The Museum remains closed on all Mondays.
