History of Pattaya

History of Pattaya reveals that it was a small fishing village in the Gulf of Thailand. Initially it was called Pad Tha Ya, meaning, wind blowing from the southwest to the northeast before the commencement of the rainy season and it finally came be known as Pattaya. The city celebrates its anniversary every 29th of November. With its steady development the infrastructure of the city kept pace. Bangkok’s new airport at Suvarnabhumi is only about an hour’s distance from Pattaya.
