for that matter. The list below will give you a fair idea about the number and

The Chinese New Year comes in the month of February and revolves around certain
animals for the year, just as the year 2006 was the year of the Dog. The new
year celebrations include boisterous and colorful dragon parades, Chinese traditional
music and dance and of course, lots and lots of your favorite Chinese food.
Thao Thep Krasatri- Thao Sri Suntorn Festival
The Thao Thep Krasatri- Thao Sri Suntorn Festival is celebrated every year
on the13th of March in memory of the two ladies who led the defense of the island
against the Burmese in 1785.
Songkran Festival
The Songkran festival celebrates the advent of the Thai New Year. This festival
is celebrated in April.
Turtle Releasing Festival
The turtle releasing festival is a part of the Thai New Year celebrations.
The Government of Thailand has christened this festival as National Fisheries
Day. The festivities include releasing of turtles into the sea at beaches in
the north of the island.
