Almost the entirety of Thailand and much of her favorite city, Phuket is made up pf scenic locales that promise to mesmerize all the tourists to Phuket by their natural charms. One of these is the beautiful Promthep Cape , Phuket, which has etched for itself a permanent place in the tourist's tour itinerary of Phuket. Exotic and pure, like the rest of the country, the Promthep Cape , Phuket is the southern most point of the island and a definite must visit while on a trip to Phuket. If you are planning to visit the region while on a conducted tour it is best to combine the region with some of the other tourist attractions of Phuket like the Wat Chalong and the Rawai beach. The region has certain spiritual significances which is perhaps evident from its name. “Prom” means Brahma in Thai signifying purity, while “Thep” means God. It is perhaps a combination of these two words that has earned the place another name, “Leam Jao” or God's Cape with which the locals still address the Cape today. Famous in history as one of the earliest references made to the existence of Thailand , the Cape was one of the most prominent parts of the mainland for travelers in search of the coveted Trade Route traveling towards the Malay Peninsula .
