Cha- Am in Thailand has an amazing Summer Palace just nine kilometers away. It is Phra Ratchaniwet Marukhathayawan of King Rama VI. It is open for the public during all the government office hours from 9 am to 4:30 pm. All visitors are supposed to enter the palace through the Rama VI Military Camp.
The palace consists of two floors built on stilts that are inter - linked with covered walkways. The entire structure is made from teak. The roof is tiled and the windows beautifully shuttered similar to that of the Vimanmek Mansion in Bangkok.
Beachside accommodation- there are innumerable umbrellas and deckchairs that will guard you against the sun. These are available on rent. After a good swim in the sea you can have a good wash at the public bathhouses available at nominal rates.
