Ko Tao Thailand
Thailand - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Koh Samui Island - Krabi - Pattaya - Phuket
- Take any of the numerous water taxis from Mae Head or Sairee Village to travel the only road on the island.
- Hire a motorcycle or a bicycle from Sairee Beach, Chalok or Mae Head.
- The best way to explore is on foot.
Ko Tao being quieter than Ko Samui or Ko Pha Ngan, it is easier to learn scuba diving here.
First timers will love the water that's nearly free of currents and the shallows way into the water (you need to travel at least an hour by boat to reach the deeps).
The internationally approved PADI open water certification (including rental articles, boat dives, diving training and the PADI training manual) comes to about 10,000 Baht. This may or may not include basic accommodation and insurance.
- Watch beautiful sunsets at Mae Head Beach or on the gorgeous Chalok Baan Kao. Relax on the1.7 km of white sands at the serene Sairee beach on the west coast.
- Go hiking on the steep hills of Ko Tao
Ko Tao is great all round the year. November is likely to be wet and February and March are usually the warmest months.
Come to the tranquil Ko Tao in Thailand and catch up on that scuba diving you've always wished to learn!
Things to do on the island:
- Charter a driver and a long-tail boat and go snorkeling at Shark Bay. Price per day, including snorkeling equipment would be around 1500-2000 Baht.
- Scuba Diving: This is one of the best ways to see coral reefs, turtles, reef sharks, barracuda, tiny fish and sting rays, and even an occasional whale shark!
