Krabi is situated on Thailand's Andaman sea belt and is a southern province. The Island has a very interesting past history. Krabi is famous for its beaches and sand shores. Popularly belief claims that Krabi has been the home to homo-sapiens since 25,000- 35,000 B.C. It was initially called 'Ban Thai Samor'. The island is actually a tributary to the Kingdom of Ligor. In 1875 Krabi was raised to the level of a fourth level town in the Thai government. Krabi is on the Andaman Sea coast.
