Songkhla is a province in Southern Thailand and it borders on Malaysia. The province is the principal seaport of Thailand and is also famous for its historical ruins. The beauty of the place lies in its beaches, lakes and vibrant waterfalls. Hat Yai is the major district in the Songkhla province.

The attractions of Songkhla, Thailand

Samila Beach the golden mermaid statue that is the symbol of Songkhla lies on the beach. The beach is lined with palm trees.

Kao seng is a fishing village and lies close to the Samila Beach. The Institute of Coastal Marine Aquaculture is situated near this village.

Pa Prem is a recreational Garden and also a popular picnic spot.

Songkhla Lake is the largest lake in Songkhla and is home to numerous types of water plants and marine lives.

Wat Tham Talord is a cave temple that houses ancient Buddha statues. The place has a peaceful ambience.

Tone Nga Chang Waterfall is 26 kilometers from hat Yai and the surrounding area is excellent for trekking.

Songkhla National Museum features ancient relic from Baan Chiang period and the Stone Age. The museum lies on the Wichianchom Road.

Wat Chai Mongkhl is greatly respected by all the locals and is said to contain Buddha bone relics.
