Chiang Mai Flower Festival

The Chiang Mai Flower Festival is celebrated with tropical flowers in Chiang Mai that grow during the month of February. This is a three-day annual festival that is held in the first weekend of February. There are many events held during this Festival and the whole place gains a festive and joyous mood and the display of beautiful flowers during this festival has gained the place the name "rose of the north".
Things to see during the Chiang Mai Flower Festival:
Enjoy the display of colorful flowers like bougainvillea, petunias, poinsettias and lots more.
Prize blooms are on display at Suan Buak Haad. Every species 9of flower is displayed and the judges choose their best ones.
There are excellent flower floats and you can see many young girls of that area dressed in beautiful traditional clothes participating in a Parade. The people in the Parade hand out roses to the spectators who line the street.
The Parade of the Chiang Mai Flower Festival ends at Suan Buak Haad Park and a party begins there in the late afternoon.
This party also included a beauty contest that chooses the new Flower Festival Queen.
