From late November to early December famous River Kwae Bridge that was built by the Allied War prisoners during the World War II becomes the focus of celebrations. It is usually held from 24th November to 7th December but dates are liable to change. The Kanchanburi province has become famous due to this festival. The highlights of River Kwai Bridge Week include a carnival, innumerable cultural performances, riding the vintage trains and a re enactment of the horrifying tales of the Second World War II. Besides these there are other programs like the- A remembrance ceremony held at the Allied War Cemetery. Rituals to pay respect to those who had gallantly lost their lives at the bridge. The Miss Peace pageant The "River Kwai Bridge, Death Railway" light-and-sound show Concerts where there are performances of popular Thai artists. Floral floats procession You can buy the tickets for River Kwai Bridge Week in advance at 100, 200 and 300 Baht. If you are planning to go for the show with a group of more than 20 persons you can also avail the 20% discount. There is a discount of 50% available for groups taken from schools and universities.
