The Tableaux is one of the best places when it comes to fusion food in Tokyo. The city has a number of restaurants serving international and fusion food, but the interiors of Tableaux make it stand out as an exclusive one. With the deft touches of designer Margaret O'Brien, the place looks like a tearoom right out of medieval Russia. The Tableaux is opulently furnished with heavy curtains and animal skins, and the chandeliers and mirrors give it a quaint and somewhat dreamlike aura. The bar has a fresco narrating the fall of Pompeii, and the abundant spread of red and golden often cast a different spell on the diners. The patio provides a splendid venue for a romantic dinner. The cigar room is ever packed and the enticing smell of Cuban cigar lures the diners in for a puff. The live jazz band playing here is definitely a windfall to the ones who love to tap their feet as they eat.

Tableaux is marked for the international and fusion food it caters. The menu conceived by Chef Scott Lawther borrows flavors from all across the globe. The regular visitors would recommend some exclusive dishes like Thai soup with shrimp and lemon grass, or chicken tortilla roll and batter-fried zucchini flowers with mozzarella and anchovy. The menu is regularly modified to incorporate new variations. The restaurant has wide variety of choice wines in its cellar.

Tableaux has a large banquet room that can seat 100 people and if it is a cocktail party, about 250 guests can easily squeeze in. the restaurant has a fully equipped bar area, cigar room, outdoor dining facilities, a separate smoking area, and also private rooms. The private room accommodates 20 people while the semi-private area fits another 40. Hospitality is another perk or the diners in Tableaux and the waiters are ever ready to serve you with the best of international flavors.
