Italian Restaurants in Tokyo

Japan - Fukuoka - Kobe - Nagoya - Tokyo - Osaka - Hiroshima - Kyoto - Yokohama
The Italian trade commission in Japan places the number of Italian restaurants in Tokyo to over 2000. The figure is a culmination of the frenzied interests displayed years ago by the Japanese for the European cuisines; so great was the enthusiasm that many seasoned cooks from the country made a beeline to European countries to start anew the process of learning and unlearning.

Many Italians, who have not stopped marveling at the prolific growth of Italian restaurants in Tokyo, remark that there are better Italian restaurants in Tokyo than in Italy.

Some of the famous Italian Restaurants in Tokyo

La Granata- is located in the basement of Tokyo Broadcasting Systems building. The restaurant offers the best of Italian cuisine in the traditional ambience of check tables and brickwork. The rich pervading aroma of the Italian food and the very Italian environment in the restaurant go extremely well with the Italian in Tokyo as well as the Japanese.

La Boheme- in this restaurant in Ginza, pasta dwells on the dinner tables in perfect harmony with Japanese cuisines. There is a chain of La Boheme restaurants in Japan

La Ranarita Azumabashi- located on the 22nd floor in Asahi Beer Tower. The restaurant provides an amazing view of Asakusa. The food is the usual Italian fare.

Ristorante II Bianco- this moderately priced Italian restaurant offers Italian dishes like sautéed red snapper with a red pimento sauce, and sautéed lamb chops with an herb-flavored caper sauce. The restaurant does not charge cork fees, which means outside liquor bottles are allowed but limited to one per person.

Restorante Carmine- the restaurant is popular for its authentic Italian five course dinner. Other dishes well received by the foodies are pasta twists with tomato and caper sauce and veal scallopini à la marsala.

Trattoria-Pizzeria Sabatini- this basement restaurant was launched in 1984. As claimed by the restaurant, many of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. The pasta machine in the restaurant has been shipped from Italy. Besides pizzas, Trattoria-Pizzeria Sabatini also provides authentic Italian dishes like lasagna, spaghetti and fettuccine.

Selan- The restaurant is located not very far from Meiji-Jingu-gaien Park. The restaurant provides a wonderful fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisines. Some of its specialties include baked scampi with black chili sauce, roasted duck with black and green olive sauce.
