Dubai world Cup is the world's largest race meeting with a purse of $6 million since 2004. It was the creation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It has been held annually since 1986 at the Nad al sheba recourse. It is located 10 minutes from the city center in Dubai. It is a 2200-meter left-handed dark track. The race is group 1 flat race on dirt where four years and above through breads participate. In 2006 for the first time the race was broadcast live on TVG network and Hr TV taped it later for showing it on ABC.

In 2007 it wil be held on 31st march.It wil be supported by the UAE Derby and the Dubai Kahayla Classic for Purebred Arabians, The Dubai Duty Free, Dubai Sheema Classic, Dubai Golden Shaheen and Godolphin Mile. The race features five group 1 races and two Group 2 race. Together it will offer $21.25 million. It attracts the best through breads across the world. The event is closely watched by millions of people. It is a very well organized show. With first class training facilities, superb hospitality and host of entertainment facilities it is one of the most meticulously planned and co-coordinated event. The event is expected to be attended by 65000 people. With so much of excitement and thrill this attending the Dubai world Cup is an experience of lifetime.

The Dubai world Cup race was first won by Cigar owned by Alle e Paulson. In 2006 it was won by Electrocutionist owned by Godolphin stables.
