Jumeirah Mosque Dubai

United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi - Dubai - Sharjah - Al Ain

Built under Fatimid Tradition of the Medieval Period, Jumeirah Mosque, is a secular symbol for all tourists who visit Dubai. Built completely with white stones, Jumeirah Mosque Dubai is one of the finest examples of Modern Islamic Architectural Style. Though strict dress codes are to be followed by all visitors, this mosque is lenient towards non-Muslims as it allows everyone, of any religion and faith, to enter its premises if you are a part of an organized tour. Tourists flock the mosque at night to get a glimpse of the subtle artistic excellence which has created it. It is better visible when the mosque is well lit at night.

Jumeirah is a region of artificial islands (Palm Islands) and artificial beach (Jumeirah Beach). Jumairah Mosque is located at a few minutes' driving distance from Jumeirah Beach. In fact, the two big minarets of Jumeirah Mosque on two sides of its crown stand witness to all happenings in the Jumeirah region and believers often make them a reference point in any spiritual conversation. Jumeirah Mosque is open 24 hours a day and the entry is free of cost.

Tulunid techniques are said to be the backbone of Fatimid Tradition in architecture. Fatimid Tradition in Architecture came to the limelight with the construction of Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo (r. 969) and with the establishment of Al-Azhar University at which this architectural style was formally taught. Ismaili Shia, an early proponent of this style made Al-Azhar Mosque as his spiritual center. Jumeirah Mosque has some resemblances with Mosque of al-Hakim (r. 996), as both of them were built under Fatimid Tradition. At one time, the Fatimid caliph of al-Hakim Mosque had wide ranging impact on the day to day religious and political activities of the Muslim community of the region.Jumeirah Mosque is the living example of Fatimid Tradition that Dubai can boast of.

Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding collaborates with Jumeirah Mosque to conduct a guided tour, 'Open Doors, Open Minds', which takes the tourist along all major cultural centers in Dubai.
