Transportation in Sharjah
United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi - Dubai - Sharjah - Al Ain
Driving is on the right side of the road and the pick rush hours in Sharjah are the mornings and evenings from 7 am to 8:30 am and again from 6 pm to 8 pm. Drink and drive is a strict no in Sharjah and the whole of UAE follows it severely. Carrying driving license and registration document is a must while driving in Sharjah.
For tourists, who cant afford to buy a car can use taxis, which are the best means of transportation to move around easily in UAE.
By law, Taxis are supposed to take you within an emirate or from emirate to emirate. In the UAE, taxis are only allowed to take you from the emirate where their vehicle is registered. They can drop you to any destination you wish but can't bring you back by law.
And if taxis are caught doing it illegally, they will pay a large fine and most likely have they're taxi taken away from them for sometime. The major disadvantage of this system is that customers have to pay heavy money as fares, would be much less if taxis could take people from anywhere to anywhere.
Motorcycles are very rarely used in the UAE. Individual who can't afford a
car uses motorcycles, as it costs as low as Dhs. 3,000.
Sharjah, as a Tourist Destination offers all these and much more
