Crocodile Lake Ho Chi Minh City

Suoi Tien Tourist Area, located in the northeastern part of Ho Chi Minh City, is famous for its wild landscape. This popular destination is a biodiversity hotspot in the midst of tropical rain forest. The abundance of rare wild animals, makes it a must see sight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Once you are in Suoi Tien, you cannot afford to miss Bai Sau, popularly known as Crocodile Lake. The famous Crocodile Lake lies within the Nam Cat Tien National Park of Suoi Tien Area. It extends 10 km from the park office.
Among the rare species of crocodile, which are preserved here, some are worth mentioning like Green Peafowl (visible during early morning hours), Bronze-winged Jacana, Lesser Adjutant and Purple Heron (visible during late hours in afternoon).
This Crocodile Lake is the breeding ground of around 2,000 crocodiles.

5 km walk through the tropical forest will take you to the ranger station standing by the side of the lake.
If you can arrange overnight stay in the lakeside ranger station, the glowing crocodile eyes on the lake surface at night will surely add to your thrills.
However a guide is must for your trip through this dense forest.

Apart from the Crocodile Lake, you can watch out the numerous marine animals swimming in the glass tunnels and hundreds of fish species kept in the huge aquarium.
You can also search for the Orange-breasted Trogon, Red and Black and Banded Broadbill and Pale-headed Woodpecker in the forest.
