The Pearl of the Orient, Saigon was officially christened Ho Chi Minh City on May 1st 1975. Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city of Vietnam and its commercial capital. This vibrant city is home to more than six million people and is the most densely populated city of Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City boasts of innumerable tourist attractions and is a veritable tourist hot spot. From ancient pagodas to official buildings designed in the colonial era to museums and street markets, the Ho Chi Minh City has a lot to offer to tourists.

A centre for providing information on tourism and related services was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City on Sept. 23 2006 to furnish tourists with much needed assistance.

The Tourism Information Centre will provide tourists with free information about tours to cultural and historical sites, historic events in Viet Nam and information about the sightseeing attractions of different regions.

The Centre also extends professional services to local tourists, including that of domestic and foreign tours, and booking of plane tickets and hotel rooms.

The Tourist Information Center is located on the northeast corner intersection of Le Loi and Nguyen Hue right in the middle of the city. It is a good idea to avail of a free map from this office before you venture out for sightseeing.
