Usually for the first 2 km it costs around 12000 dong, after which each additional km is charged 6000 dong. All taxis plying within the city are not same. The taxis with air conditioner and the larger mini-SUV-type models cost more.
Motorbike taxis called Xe om, costs even less than the normal taxis. Though
the majority of the 10,000 taxis running inside the city are metered and most
of the drivers can communicate in English, you are still advised to be careful
of the rigged meters, which cause the fare to rise at a fast rate.
