Hue, an imperial city complex, and the capital of Vietnam's Thua Thien-Hue province has been recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Situated on the banks of the Perfume River, Hue attracts a great number of visitors regularly. To make it even more easier for these tourists to move around Hue, the authorities have made great efforts to improve the transport system in Hue. One of the most used means of transportation in Hue, is the Hue Bus Service.
The Hue Bus Service is very well developed, and there are three main bus stations in hue -
  - Dong Ba bus station, situated at 6 Tran Hung Dao Street.
  - Nguyen Hoang bus station, situated at 3 Le Duan Street.
  - The South Inter-provincial bus station, situated at 333A Hung Vuong Street.

Those visitors who need to travel within the province of Thua Thien-Hue can take regular buses that depart from and arrive at the Dong Ba bus station, which has buses traveling the routes such as - Hue-Vinh Hien, Hue-Vinh An, Hue-Binh Dien, Hue-Truoi, Hue-Pho Trach, Hue-Phong An, Hue-Sia, Hue-Van Xa, Hue-An Lo.

The Hue Bus Service also serves long-distance buses, and there are two bus terminals for this purpose. The buses from the south come into An Cuu station, 3kms southeast of the centre along Highway 1, whereas buses from Hanoi and the north pull into An Hoa station, 4km northwest on Highway 1.

The Hue Bus Service is further enhanced by open-tour buses, which take visitors on local sight-seeing tours, and make the trip a very comfortable and organized one. There are two major open-tour bus operators, namely, Sinh Café, and Kim Travel.

The Sinh Cafe open-tour buses come to rest at, and depart from either of their two offices situated at 2 Hung Vuong, and at 7 Nguyen Tri Phuong. One can avail of onward bus tickets, tours; internet access and information regarding Hue, and its various places from these offices.

Kim Travel open-tour buses operate from Queen Cafe 3, at 8 Hung Vuong. Buses meant for Laos and Savannakhet via the Lao Bao border depart from here at 6 pm everyday, and arrive the following day at 2 pm.

A safe, convenient and inexpensive way of traveling in and around Hue is by making use of the Hue Bus Service, which is an extremely popular mode of transport in this city.
