Vinh Quy Bai Festival Hue

Hue Festival is undoubtedly Hue Imperial City's most important annual event. It is basically a celebration of the culture, the court music and the ancient traditions of this historic city for nine days in the month of June. It is believed that the Giao sacrifice ceremony feeds this celebration, which is governed by a peaceful and humanitarian spirit. The Hue Festival is actually includes a collection of festivals, rites and homages including the festivals of Truyen Lo and VinhQuy Bai Festival, Hue, which are ritualistic ceremonies performed to honor ancestors when doctors return home after successful academic achievements.

The Vinh Quy Bai Festival, Hue begins after the conclusion of truyen lo rituals, after the King and his entourage have returned to the palace and other join a parade from Ngo Mon to Phu Van Lau, to post up the Golden Board.

From there the procession continues to move to Duyet Thi Duong, the royal theater, where the ceremony of Vinh Quy Bai festival is held to recall the images of the newly bestowed persons to return their native villages to pay thanks to their ancestors.

The Vinh Quy Bai ceremony is organized under the form of a folk festival, where the participants parade from Hien Nhon gate to the communal house of Duong No village in Phu Vang district.
