Vietnam - Hoi An - Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City - Hue

Hue is situated in Thua Thien province and is in the central part of Vietnam. Hue situated midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The former capital of the Nguyen dynasty of Vietnam, Hue is known for its beautiful imperial architecture and wonderful natural beauty. The Perfume River is the border between the city itself and the previous 'Forbidden Purple City', the Citadel. Even though, Hue faced continual damages from natural disasters and wars, one can still see the proof of its previous magnificence. Hue is the only city in Vietnam that still has the integral manifestation of a complex of the monarchic capital comprising of walls, palaces, and royal tombs. Therefore, in terms of history and heritage, Hue is one of Vietnam's most valued national treasures and a house of several magnificent Hue Tourist Attractions.
In the neighborhood of Hue, is Da Nang - city of China Beach, the Marble Mountains and the Cham Museum - where one can see magnificent examples of the art of the Indianised Cham civilization. About 20km (12 miles) from Da Nang is Hoi An - a pleasant small town sated with temple and pagodas.

Ancient Citadel
The first king of the Nguyen dynasty, Gia Long, commenced construction of the complex in 1805. The current citadel, including Imperial Enclosure, Forbidden purple City, Noon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, the Temple, nine Dynastic Urns, Hien Lam Cac and Cung.It is a historic site.
Royal Tombs
The Royal Tombs are looking more like miniature palaces than simple memorials. Hue has eight famous royal tombs to the southeast of the former citadel. The most outstanding are Gia Long Tomb, Minh Mang Tomb, Tu Duc Tomb and Khai Dinh Tomb.

Thien Mu Pagoda
This pagoda was built in the 14th century and is placed on Ha Khe hillock area near the Perfume River. It is also known as Linh Mu Pagoda. Thien Mu pagoda is one of the most beautiful and ancient architectural structures for reverence in Hue. The most outstanding feature of the pagoda is Phuoc Duyen Tower; the unofficial symbol of Hue.

Bach Ma National Park
It is in central Vietnam, 50km south of Hue. The park covers 220 sq km and is home to many rare plants and animals.

Canh Duong Beach
60km from Hue, this semi-circular shaped 8km beach is the most beautiful beach in the region. Its white soft, sand and mild breeze, making it a top spot for windsurfing and sailing.

Lang Co Beach
70km south of the city, its shore sand is very fine. This beach is suitable for tourists of all ages coming here for sea bathing because the beach slides down towards the sea sloping very gently.

Perfume River

In the list of Hue Tourist Attractions, Hue Festival is one of the most important one. It is the annual major event of the city. For nine days in the month of June; the city celebrates the culture, the court music and the ancient traditions of this historic city.
Nam Giao Festival is a ritual that takes participants from the Royal Palace to Nam Giao platform where heaven is worshipped with incense, pearl and silk offerings and the pronunciation of ritual words. Another event is the Royal Palace Night.

As an exceptional city of Vietnam which still remains its appearance of city under Middle Age and the constructions of Monarchic, Hue has become a large and a priceless museum and house of a variety of Hue Tourist Attractions. On December 1993, Hue has been acknowledged as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
