Vung Tau Vietnam

Vietnam - Hoi An - Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City - Hue
Vung Tau, Vietnam is an easy getaway from the noisy and populous city of Ho Chin Minh City, Vietnam. In bygone years, Vung tao was a favorite beach destination for the rich and famous in Ho Chin Minh City. Today Vung Tau stands as a resort town in Dong Nai province, 125 kilometers from Ho Chin Minh City. It is approximately 14 kilometers long and 6 kilometers wide. It houses many bungalows and vacation homes from olden days and many large and modern hotels along its beaches.

There are many Vietnam tourist attractions in Vung Tau. These include beaches and abundance of pagodas and temples, many leaning against the mountains and face the oceans. Vung Tau, Vietnam faces the ocean on three sides. Not surprisingly Vung Tau is windy all year long with a very pleasant average temperature of 28 degrees centigrade which makes it a popular destination for sightseeing in Vietnam.

The three beaches in Vung Tau, Vietnam are Bai Sau or the Rear Beach, Bai Dua or the Pineapple Beach, and Bai Truoc or Front beach.

Bai Sau beach is located in the southeast side of the town and is the most popular beach in Vung Tau. The affluent Saigonese holiday makers are a common sight in this beach on weekends. During the rainy season the sea is calm, but frequent periods of high wind and dry waves during the dry season.

Bai Dua beach, located at the foot of Nui Nho Mountains, is historically known for its pineapple trees and black rocks. It is the smallest of all the beaches in Vung Tau but is a very popular destination for its majestic sunset and calm waters.

Bai Truoc beach is located between the Nui Lon and Nui Nho mountains and is lined with coconut trees, the beach looks like a crescent moon when seen from far. This is the closest beach from urban Vung Tau, Vietnam and hence is filled with open air restaurants and bars.

Among the pagoda the Thich Ca Phat Dai Pagoda attracts maximum crowd, mostly pilgrims. This is famous for its large and serene environment and its 6.2 meter tall statue of Buddha. The other religious site is Niet Ban Tinh Xa Temple of Nirvana and the Statue of Jesus on top of Nui Nho Mountain.

Along with being one of the Vietnam popular destinations, Vung Tau is also a centre of services for the exploitation of gas and oil with oil rigs just 70 kilometers off shore. Beside Vung Tau, Vietnam also has a significant fishing industry.
