Everything was excellent, including that the night manager offered to have breakfast waiting for me at 5:30 AM before my departure at 6 AM, agreed that I would receive a wake-up call at 5 AM followed by another at 5:15 AM to be sure I was awake, and that a driver would arrive at 6 AM to get me to the airport by 6:30 AM for my international flight EXCEPT THAT none of that happened! Although promised, there was no breakfast and no wake-up calls. I barely got myself downstairs in time to get to the airport. Nobody seemed to know why the agreements with the night manager weren't honored.
As I was about to leave the hotel I was handed a statement for internet use, minibar (bottled water), and a few local phone calls. The total amount was more than 200 Turkish lira, and included a local phone call for the astonishing amount of 95 turkish lira. When I questioned the exorbitant amount for the one call, staff contacted the night manager. I tried to explain that there had been no information provided at the front desk or in the hotel room about cost/minute for phone calls and that 95 turkish lira was an outrageous amount for one call. He became extremely nasty, told me I had to pay the total amount, no further conversation about it, and then threatened if I didn't pay the the total amount the driver wouldn't take me to the airport!
When I realized I would miss my plane if I kept talking, I had no choice but to pay the hotel the amount requested. I travel frequently, and never have been treated so disrespectfully by any hotel, especially one that imagines it is "world class." In the European Union or in the United States, a manager who didn't keep his word about wake-up calls and breakfast, refused to discuss disputed charges, and then threatened to not let the driver take a guest to the airport WOULD BE FIRED.

| "Good hotel, perfect location, clean and elegant atmosphere. Terrece restaurant is very nice to take breakfast or dinner with a seaview.
I'll recommend this hotel to others and will use it again if I'm back to Istanbul." |

| "A really excellent hotel that should be rated 5 stars! Excellent location, close to all the historic monuments of Istanbul, excellent service, excellent breakfast, excellent view of AyaSofia, Blue Mosque and Bosporus. Refined luxury with a smell of the best Turkish tradition. A really remarkable hotel!!!" |

| "This hotel is close to so many of the favored must-see sites in Istanbul. A short walk away to quite a few nice restaurants if you prefer to adventure outside of hotel cuisine. Our only complaint was that this (and most of the Euro-Asian hotels) seem not to be familiar with the top sheet concept of bedding so that a light cover is unavailable.
The rooftop breakfast provides you with a splendid view as you start your day. Food was almost as good as that on the gulet that we traveled on before coming here.
