the hotel was beautiful, and the staff were really nice. the location was ok, lots of building work was going on across our hotel, so just a bit noisy during day. the staff were very friendly. the food was nice but was the same every day, so mostly we only had breakfast there and eat dinner in the local resturant.

| "My friends and I recently stayed at the Askoc Hotel. The location is very central and is adjacent to the main railway station. The road where the hotel is situated is pretty rough but the hotel is modern and extremely clean. The reception and dining area are impressive and there are two lifts provided.
The bedrooms are all very similar in design but most of them do not provide excellent views. Some parts of the top floors do have great views of the Bosporus, also a small balcony to admire the scenery.
The cleaning service is excellent but the en suite bathrooms are pretty small, yet compact. (Some rooms have a bigger bath than others)
The hotel has poor internal sound-proofing and in some areas an outside generator, or similar, can be heard particularly at night.
The staff are friendly and there is a fairly wide choice of cold food for breakfast but it ends bang on 10am.
A small fridge is provided in the bedrooms but its contents of beer, coke, and mineral water etc are added to the bill if consumed.
We payed about £22 per night which was very good value and would stay there again if we returned to Istanbul in the future." |

| "Location was great close to all amenities. The lobby looked nice my room was on the fifth floor. I wasn't impressed by the size of the room we had a double bed and a single right next to each other. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom had mildew in the shower area (disgusting)unhygienic the plug hole needed plunging. It got really cold and I asked the heating to be put on and the staff refused and offered us blankets instead as if we were on a camping trip. Thankfully they did put the heating on after realising it was cold. There was construction work going on right outside the hotel. I'm not sure who rates hotels but there is no way that hotel is a 4*, more like a 2*. Breakfast was the same everyday boring. " |

| "When we arrived, we were given a room at the rear of the Hotel, overlooking the air-conditioning and other machinery. The room itself was OK but, with very little natural light, it was very depressing to spend any amount of time there. After the first night we asked to be moved and were given a room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the Bosphorus, which was much lighter and airier. My advice; ask to see the room before you move in! Otherwise, the breakfast was very poor; no fresh orange juice, meat and cheese which looked as though it had been lying there for days and generally unappetising." |
