Refined choice for luxury break with relaxed atmosphere. Central for sightseeing, shopping and transport. Superb views from upper guest rooms.
Spacious and elegant. Grand inviting lobby and reception with gallery and fireplace. Intimate Edwardian tearoom/bar. Scottish-themed lounge. Charming upmarket restaurant. Brasserie and bar frequented by local business people.

"Make no mistake about it, the Balmoral is a world class hotel. The hotel has a great atmosphere, although the illumination of the corridors makes them a bit gloomy. Contrary to the experience of one other reviewer, the air-conditioning was working well. Large spacious rooms and bathrooms. Loved the heated floors in the bathroom. The separate hot and cold water faucets are annoying but not a big deal. We were first given a room overlooking Princes Street. The AC wasn't working well and the traffic noise was too much to leave the windows open. We asked to be moved to another room and were given a room with castle view (beautiful at night with the floodlights) The room was a bit smaller as was the bathroom, but much quieter and great view. The staff were polite and helpful. We will stay here again and recommend anyone also."

"FANTASTIC! We were there for 4 nights for a wedding. The first day we had a room that didn't end up having a working thermostat so they ended up changing us for the following nights--and giving us an upgrade in the process, at the same rate. Our room was spacious, decorated in a fashionable modern way, and very clean! Comfy beds, decent showers. The conceirge was extremely helpful and gave us lots of good suggestions for day trips and local pubs. It is in a convenient location, especially close if you are coming in from the bus/train. I'd love to stay here again!"
