| "We stayed at this so called best hotel in Haiphong for 4 nights and if only I did not understand the Vietnamese language then the stay would have been ok (only just).
-I requested for connecting rooms as we were staying in a group of 4 and this was agreed by exchange of emails however on arrival, I was told that this would cost more.
-I overheard a conversation between 2 bell boys over the tips received from tourists was too little and cursing foreigners behind their back.
-Restaurant staff speaking badly about appearance of tourist and how they could afford to stay at the hotel. Snobbish behaviour!
-We dined in the hotel restaurant in a group of 4. When one person left early to go back to her room, she was stopped and ordered to pay her bill despite the fact that there were still 3 people at the table finishing off our dinner.
-Room service lingered around for tips.
-There was confusion over the price for the hotel to arrange taxi to and from airport.
-When I tried to get in touch with the general manager (whom is Swiss), staff prevented me from seeing her and put me in touch with a Vietnamese customer service manager instead. They all cover up for each other.
The facilities were fine however service was such a let down. If you’re on business and don a suit everyday, you will be looked upon otherwise don’t bother." |

| "As per the local people, this is the best hotel in Haiphong! Yeah! It is true! Nice room + good service. The thing I really don't like is the breakfast, not many choice but taste ok!" |
