"Hotel is a bit worn, but good value in the centre of Hanoi. Friendly staff and helpful."
4/5  Posted by MS. FAESSLER, Nancy, United States in June 2009
"Service was par excellent. The staff was most helpful to me especially since I arrived in Hanoi with only the clothes on my back, as the airlines had lost my luggage (still lost 23 days later). The Staff went out of there way to help me with the airlines and even after I left Hanoi and went south through the central Highlands down to HCM City they forward messages from the airlines to the other hotels I was staying at in Vietnam. Great people, highly recommend this hotel."

"Perfectly located in the Old Quarter, with night markets right outside the front door. Bedrooms were more than adequate, but not quite deluxe. Breakfasts were excellent, but the dinner menu was variable in quality. Staff were very attentive and keen to assist in any way they could. Overall, a decent quality hotel, at the right price and in the perfect location."

"very dissappointed, poor service, rude restaurant staff breakfast was ok but other meal service was very poor, we found the whole hanoi city quite rude and showed respect for tourists only the dollars its one place we wont return."

"The room is small, The service from the staffs were okay. The breakfast was quite decent. My main grouse would be the location. It is located at the local markets and stores. Merchandise that you would not be interested. They are mainly cater for local as some vendors do not permit you to enter their shop. For the rate that they charge, you could get a better place."

"If one would like to really soak up the atmosphere, location this hotel is 2nd to none. Weekend night market is just in front of the hotel. Place for food for all budgets. Tour agencies plentiful, all within walking distance. Ricksaw ride could be arranged through the bell captain at 100,000 Dong ("

"The hotel itself was fine. Delight service, great breakfast, clean rooms. All major sites of Hanoi Downtown were easy to reach within minutes. However, the surrounding of the hotel did not meet the expectations. Very havy traffic and small streets, no green. Due to that ther were no pedestrian-side it was hard to make a walk. The sauna and spa was expensive and dissapointing. Interet-access worked perfect. Overall a good place to stay for business. "

"We (my wife, two children and I) stayed for two nights. The rooms are small and worn. The lobby is fine. The breakfast is not interesting. The staff is friendly. It could be cleaner. Our room had a view of a concrete wall. Not recommendable at all. We stayed for two days, went on a tour and returned to Hanoi, so we decided to find another hotel for the rest of our stay. We saw many better options even at much lower prices. The location is great - though. It not good for families, and I would not return to the hotel on business either. "

"I would highly recommend this hotel. It is centrally located with excellent facilities. We had young children with us and the staff were very helpful."

"Staying at the Majestic Salute was right in the middle of the old Quarter where all the action is. If we went to Hanoi again we would definately stay at the Majestic Salute as the location is great. The breakfast was fine and the price of food and drinks were not too expensive. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a night market on a Friday and Saturday night out the front door and a market open during the day at the end of the road. The motel organised a City tour for us based on us looking at the map and discussing all the options. It was great and the guide was really good. Be careful if you buy DVDs as we had a heap taken off us going through customs, as we left the country. We would stay at the Majestic if we go back to Hanoi in Vietnam."
