"Lovely food in the executive lounge. Staff friendly once you were checked in but had to carrying my own luggage 30kgs plus to go up to the 20th floor for the "deluxe" check in. Spacious rooms with a great view and staff checked in frequently to see if I would like anything. Anytime I went out my room was fixed and tidied. Wireless internet access very expensive and should be included in the cost! Great bed and bedding plus choice of pillow. "

"This was our second time at Melia Hotel. It is a reasonably good hotel in a great position, the rooms could do with a bit of an update, but are very clean. We stayed on the executive floor for not much more than a normal room and while the rooms are the same, it is great value with free drinks and food at happy hour. Would recommend the executive rooms."

"The facilities and services of the Melia were excellent and as expected of a 5-star hotel. It was good value for money. The breakfast buffet was excellent although the selections were identical everyday - one could tire of it if staying in the Melia for more than 3 days. The location was superb and within easy walking distance to restaurants and a short cab ride to the Old Quarter. Would highly recommend it for those seeking a bit more luxurious comfort!"

"Very nice hotel in a great location. We could not get a room on the high floors as it was fully booked, but I suggest you try and request one, as the views of the lake in the Old Quarter area are lovely. Breakfasts were excellent with a full range of choices."

"Greater focus towards business than the holiday maker! The staff were not as warm or friendly as in other hotels in Vietnam of this calibre although the hotel itself is of a high standard. The hotel is a little distance from the tourist action and the rooms have a great view which makes up for the average service. "

"This was the second time at the melia, and it doesn't disapoint. My wife found the bed alittle firm. But suits most. Beautiful memorable breakfast. Value plus when booked through asiarooms. You couldn't find anything better in Hanoi. Once again an unforgetable stay, thankyou asiarooms and Melia Hanoi. "

"Great hotel with great staff. Within walking distance from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town and inclusive buffet breakfast capped off a wonderful stay at this 5 star hotel."

"Good 5* Hotel. Would have prefered a lounge rather than a business working desk in the room. Location pretty good, short stroll to lakes and old quarter. Cost of using the business centre is high. Sat night Vietnamese seafood buffet (unlimited beer) is great value. Some small things that other 5* hotels offer would make them a better preference. Things like free local phone calls, free limited laundry etc are not offered. Overall just a normal 5* hotel, nothing too special. Others make more appeal. "

"This October was my second stay at the Melia Hanoi. It is an excellent hotel with a great location. The staff will go out of their way to insure that your stay is a rewarding one. The buffet breakfast is wonderful but the lunch menu is lacking in variety. That is not a real problem because there are many great restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel. It is rated a five star hotel and I believe that its true rating is very close to being a five star hotel. I will stay there again on my next visit to Hanoi."
