| "What a rip off - 7 dollars for 14 minutes local call - 4 dollars for 2 T shirts laundered - $58 for trip to Ha Long bay instead of $40.00 and booking a trip to Saigon with a cheap Pacific Airline and charging full fare. Even the room and the service are OK, the hotel and its staff namely Anh try to rip you off every of your penny - Stay away - I paid $42.50 for a room which should cost me $35.00. Beware of this hotel and stay away - there should be more Hotel choices in Ha Noi than this low class dig.

| ""This was the worst accomodation i have ever visited! Even though we had reserved, left a guarantee by credit card details given and dropped our bags in earlier that day, when we arrived to check into our room it had been given to someone else! So we spent the night tired, hunting alone for accomodation in the dark which was not successful as it was a foreigner and attempting to sort arrangements out with unhelpful and unsympathetic staff! further more the hotel looked very small and dirty as it was located in the wetty lane lacking of lights. I would never stay here again and will make sure that other traveling from my camp councellors agency are sure to avoid it!"
Please help me to post this comment as a lesson for the following guest who intend to stay at this bad hotel.

| "Very friendly & heart-warming staffs run by a family, we enjoyed the stay with them. Very clean & spacious room with laminated floor & private bathroom. Located at old quarter where you can easily access to all kind of shops around and get to see a lot of location as like as water puppet, ANZ bank, .." |

| "This hotel is quite possibly the best in SE asia. What really makes it top notch is the two aussie owners, who are always around and happy to give good advice or have a few beers with. If you're going to Hanoi and you're a backpacker this is the only place to stay. The kitchen you can cook in is a big plus too." |

| "The hotel and the room were a joy - the staff were so helpful and the restaurants were excellent - the swimming pool could have been a little bigger or a separate one provided for children - apart from that excellent and shall be back asap" |

| "We stayed in the old section of this Ngoc Mai hotel and it was excellent. The renovation of this wonderful old French style building has been undertaken in a sympathetic but modern way to ensure the hotel keeps pace with todays market expectations. The food was excellent as was the service, particularly around the pool. There was a range of food types with particular emphasis of the local cuisine. We participated in a hotel run cooking class and had a marvelous day going to a local market, spending 2 hours with an instructing chef and then a further 2 hours over an extended lunch - all very good value and recommended. We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone seeking a sophisticated and quality hotel experience in this wonderful city" |
