"Reception staff very fiendly and helpful. Gave us reassurance after a bad experience with taxi driver from Hanoi airport. Don't take any other than licensed cab. Rooms small, but adequate for short stay. Pleasant stay, breakfast ok, but evening meal not too good."

"The Hotel is very good. But the reception is a mess You canīt trust them."

"The only good things about the Platinum hotel are: (i) it is clean; and (ii) the ADSL internet access in the room works. But that's usually the case in most hotels in Hanoi. The minuses are many: (i) the hotel location is not at all convenient - it is a good 20 mins walk at least to the old quarters; (ii) water seeps through the floor from the shower area when you shower such that the whole bathroom becomes wet; (iii) there seems to be a ration on hot water as you run out of hot water within 10 mins; and (iv) service was poor - we had a bad experience with the receptionist, Ms Vu Hong Ha, who refused to let us have a late checkout when her colleague was prepared to accommodate. Thanks to a Ms Hong, from the sales department, who intervened and allowed us the late checkout. Nevertheless, we don't intend to stay at the hotel in our next trip to Hanoi. "

"Overall, stay was good. Location was convenient, room was generally clean and staff was very friendly. Complaints are over minor details, such as hot water's temp tends to vary (if u bathe a bit too long, the water become colder), toilet seat was wobbly, toiletries set kept coming back to the toilet (while I kept taking it out, as the basin area has little space and I need it for my own stuff), etc. Of course, the other complaint was over price. But then, Hanoi does not have good cheap accommodation."

"I was on business in Hanoi and could not get a room in the hotel of my choice, AsiaRooms had accomodation available at The Platinum but this was not the standard of hotel I would normally choose. The location is too far from the business district and there are few decent restaurants in the locality. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are on a limited budget, I will be returning to Hanoi in the Autumn and will not be staying at the Platinum. "

"We were very pleased with the staff service and cleanliness of the place but disappointed with the size of the room and bathroom - they are really small! For the price we paid, I don't think we got value for money. "

"Nice hotel but not near any tourist area or downtown. Excellent service! All of the staff went out of there way to help me. Nice room and I enjoyed being able to go into the business room and on the internet even late at night."

"A very good value hotel in a great location for the old Quarter of Hanoi. A lot of the rooms don't have a window due to the traditional design of Hanoi buildings, which is a bit off-putting. But the room facilities were excellent - LCD TV; Air-con; Kettle; Good double bed; Tea and Coffee facilities; Excellent bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. the breakfast was a bit poor and disorganised but this was the only the only downside. "
3/5  Posted by MR. TIONG FEE, Chua, Malaysia in March 2007
"The room was a little bit small, but everything works. The receptionist Mr Tang and Sales Executive Ms Hung were very helpful in terms of organizing tours and briefing about Hanoi. Overall it was a pleasant stay and the hotel is recommended for first timer who know nothing about Hanoi."
4/5  Posted by MS. YOON, Yoke Theng, Malaysia in February 2007
"I reserved a 3-bed room but got a double bed. The staff were efficient in bringing us an additional bed but the bed is hard as stone. The room is extremely small for 3 people but it is very quiet since it faces the back. Some woman knocked on our door round midnight once, we called the front desk and they said she was looking for someone and was at the wrong door. I don't buy that. Other than that, the room and service were great. "
