"The room and facilities were what you would expect for a three star hotel and I think was good value. The prices charged for anything else was very high for example a 500ml bottle of water was 15000 VND, outside it cost 5000 in a restaurant 6000 and at the supermarket 3000. I was quoted 175000 VND by the reception staff for a trip to the Tunnels, the same trip with the same company cost 87000 at any travel company in the area. My advice would be dont buy anything from the hotel. My only other complaint would be about the breakfast which was poor and below average. The location was very good overall I would rate this hotel as good value and would stay there again"

"Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told by the staff that we could not check in yet as we were 2 hours early. We were pleased by their prompt offer to help us deposit our luggage free-of-charge so we could go sightseeing, instead of letting precious time slip by while waiting in the hotel lobby. Eventually they still allowed us to check in about 30 minutes early. Our room was spacious and clean. We were disappointed to see that our bathroom didn't come with a bathtub, but otherwise we were satisfied. Room make-up service was efficient and staff were very thoughtful. The receptionists were always eager to offer us guidance regarding visits to places of interest and even helped us book day-tours to destinations outside of Ho Chi Minh City. Personalised service and warm smiles were part of every day we had spent at Dai Nam. Certainly, we already are looking forward to our next stay at Dai Nam!"

"Basic hotel, but good value for money. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in central part of HCM, it's a good choice. But don't expect modern rooms or very good breakfast...it's OK but basic. "

"Location is excellent. Service is below par. The room safe and TV were defective. After lodging the complaint, noting done to rectify. Breakfast is very boring. But overall, value for money for a 3 stars hotel. Hotel is careful to choose either a meilinh or Vinasun taxi for guests as there are 4 ways many taxi drivers cheated the foreigners by 1) Go for a long ride 2) confuse the foreigner on the meter by adding a zero meaning 10 times more as the meter cannot show all the zeros and 3) use a modified meter that jump twice the speed and 4) refuse to use the meter. I have been cheated by all the above so hotel is very careful in selecting the taxi that guests used which is a strong point for this hotel."

"Stayed 5 nights in this hotel from 30 Apr to 4 May 2008. The staff are helpful. Although I had a room facing the road, but the noise level is tolerable and still manage to have a good night sleep. The negative point is that the lift only goes up to 4th floor and I had to climb the stairs from 4th floor to my room. The lobby and lift needs upgrading, it is quite old and the lift is dirty and have a funny smell and the lights in the lift, corridor and room are very dim. I think they also off the air conditioner in the corridor at certain hours and it is quite hot and stuffy. Overall it is value for money, as the room is clean and the room size is just right. "
