| "First clas hotel in a perfect location. Getting a bit pricey although all hotels in Saigon seem to have raised prices over the last year or so. Breakfast menu offers a wide variety of delicious food to suit any taste. Would recommend this hotel to all especially those wishing to explore the city." |

| "The continental - one of the most famous hotels in Saigon. Booked in the junior suite which was more like an appartment the space was amazing. It had a king size bed and a single bed and still left space gallore. The sitting area with a balcony overlooking the opera house was a great bonus. The room was clean and well stocked. The location was perfect and within walking distance of all the tourist sights, reunification palace, river, post office, war history museum - once you get used to crossing the roads. Breakfast is served early and seems to run out of things if you want a bit of a sleep in. On the negative the bathroom was dated with a shower over the bath and in need of some tlc. The room furniture is old french reproduction not swanky new but we found that that was what the continental was about, it was history. Room location is important in this hotel and for the price of the junior suite it was worth every extra penny. Noise of the traffic starts early morning and ends late into the night so if you are a light sleeper you may find this unsuitable. The hotel location is equivalent to being on oxford circus, london. Designer shops, fab restaurants - not so much the continentals Italian restaurant which was just ok. Lemon Grass, Mandarin and Rex rooftop terrace restaurants nearby are fantastic if you want to go upmarket £15pp for three course with drinks - that is upmarket. We loved saigon and felt safe walking around at all times. Shop around for trips as the hotels prices are quite high, firamex tours on dong khoi street towards the river offers the same trips for half the price and were great. All in all Vietnam and the Continental Saigon was the experience we were looking for and found it." |

| "The room was not ready on our arrival (at 6.30pm !!!); there was no bed for our child ! At the end, they provided a bed free of charge and all went fine. The bell-boy service was rather quick: unexpected pleasant surprise in view of the "mess" in the reception area ... Breakfast is not very good and service is appalling BUT the courtyard outside is very nice and saves the whole breakfast experience. Location is really good though: all shopping spots are walking distance, not to speak restaurants ! Even if there are weddings in the patio, it is worth getting a room overlooking the patio since these things tend to finish early; as opposed to traffic which goes on all night and all day ! The value is quite good for the money. I would recommend the hotel." |

| "Upon arrival, we were told that our room was not ready and were given a drink ticket for the 2d floor bar, which was a smoke filled, unattractive space. After being served our drinks we were told by the manager that the drink ticket was not valid. After some discussion he relented. We were shown to our Oriental Suite room which , while old and needing some fresh paint and a new carpet, was quite spacious and charming. The shower was a bit quirky and the water was lukewarm but otherwise we were happy with the room.
I attempted to use the business center but the connection was painfully slow and at 20000 dong per minute, not a very good value. After ten minutes I gave up.Fortunately they did not charge me. The staff and in the business center was not particularly helpful.
The lobby was quite nice and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate.
Despite the negative issues described above, overall we had a pleasant stay and we would probably stay there again. The location was fantastic." |

| "The room was large and airy and nicely furnished. The bathroom was rather worn and shower not very good. It was adequate but would be improved by better plumbing. Breakfast good and surroundings beautiful. Good position near to most things. Would be nice to have electric kettle in room instead of jug. Very glad the old atmosphere has been retained. It was a very nice experience in all." |

| "The hotel was undergoing all sorts of renovation downstairs during our stay but it didn't really affect us.
This hotel is surrounded by a few of the more expensive hotels in Dist 1 and seems to be quite the value. We stayed in the older section which from the other reviews is supposed to be the better section. The older section does have character and charm. Although the traffic noice is there during the day (when we really weren't in the room) it does calm down nicely in the late evening and was not a problem at all. We didn't try the restaurant or the bar which looked pretty quiet and there are a lot of other options in the area. Breakfast was good with lots of choices and was generally served in the nice courtyard." |

| "The hotel was under renovation. Despite the noise from renovation and traffic, I love the colonial style and the location. My room had a balcony facing the Opera House. There was an outdoor concert on Sunday & we just simply sat at the balcony to enjoy music. Among all the colonial style hotels in HCMC, it's the oldest and the cheapest." |

| "This hotel is certainly overprice for what it can offer. The hotel staff is not as knowledgeable as expected of them. On Sunday morning, I was awaken by very loud music outside the hotel which the staff told us that it is not within their control. The heater is not warm enough. Though they might have a big and deep bath tub, it is of no use to soak in a "cold" bath. During the day of departure, the staff forgot about our morning call at 4am when we were supposed to rush to the airport to take the local flight. When told about their mistake, they did not even appeared to be apologetic, just merely answered "Oh! Sorry" and thats it. Imagine if we were to miss our flight, who shall we blame. Not recommended for anybody, there are certainly better hotels near that area. For a price that we are paying, they do not even provide a fresh bottle of mineral water everyday. Even a hotel half their price gives that....I cannot understand what I am paying for....Also, hotel cleaning staffs cannot wait to clean your room and will 'pressurise" you to leave you room at a certain timing so that they can do their cleaning the time they wish. | "My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We were upgraded to an Oriental suite which was not overly large - had 1 double and 1 king single bed and a sitting area. I loved the bathroom room very french and beautiful but ageing and a little small but no complaints. The room is dull and lined with timber. It was nice to have a balcony to step out on to. the hotel had a nice bar upstairs and a lovely outdoor eatery with trees around. the breakfast room was large and airconditioned and a gread variety of food. The toilets here were very very good. the hotel is in a classy area and close to everything, opposite the opera house, Louis Vitton store and much shopping and sightseeing around. Very good value for money but would probably book the same type of room just for the balcony! The doormen were very friendly reception staff were average. " |
