Stayed in a new wing room for three nights early june 2008. Beautiful old building in a commanding position on the Saigon River. Checkin fuss free service friendly and efficient. Low season, so there was no-one around, for that reason we didn't try any of the restaurants. Breakfast is on the roof and there are two roof top bars, one on the old wing L5 one on the new wing L8. Had them both pretty much to ourselves. Room was as you would expect of a 5 star hotel and nothing more. No noise from the street with double glazed (opening) windows. Breakfast was standard, buffet style, good fresh noodle soups in Vietnamese style. Location is perfect at the bottom of D. Dong Khoi - walking distance to everything if you don't fancy the hassle of taxis/cylos (and they are a hassle in vietnam at times)
Would reccommend it to others but would probably try somewhere else if we came back (maybe the Caravelle)

| "Overall an excellent hotel, beautiful old-school building with all the mod cons, good location (walking distance to high and low price restaurants and markets-and on the river of course) and attentive and professional service. And the massive and comfortable beds.
Stayed in two different Riverview rooms, one in the old wing and one in the new wing. Both very good and similar, main differences are the new wing room had a bigger TV, while the old wing room had a bigger bathroom.
We went on a cycling tour for fours days and the hotel were more than happy to mind our bulky luggage for us until we came back.
Highly recommend for luxury travellers. " |
