Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
My husband and I stayed at the Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in May 2007 and had a wonderful experience! Not only was the hotel beautiful and the meals and service outstanding, when I left my purse containing all of our travel documents - passports, airline tickets, hotel vouchers and cash in a local taxi cab, the Duty Manager of the Rex Hotel, Ngo Tien Hung, contacted all of the taxi companies trying to locate my purse and personally walked us to the police station and assisted us with filing a police report. I am happy to say that his efforts were not in vain, as my purse was returned to me the following day with everything accounted for! While the Rex Hotel claims to be “Your Vietnam Home” the Rex Hotel is most assuredly “Our” Vietnam Home!

"I stayed at the Rex (an affordable 4 star hotel) and also the Majestic (an expensive 5 star hotel). I have to say that i thought the Rex was a far superior hotel in every way! The room was large, the restaurant facilities were great, the spa was amazing, the gym was like a 'Fitness First' and the 2 pools were beautiful. My only criticism would be that our room smelt like cigarette. However, you quickly got used to the smell and it was a small price to pay for such a great hotel!"

"Im very disappointed in this hotel. I dont mind the bad reviews about the decor but our room stank of smoke and there was basically nothing that could be done about it ! The room was over priced, the service mediocre, and the room aging , smelly and musty. I wouldnt recommend this hotel at all , unless youre desperate and plan a full day of activities where youll only come back to the hotel late and exhausted."

"We reserved the hotel for 3 nights, but i canceled the first night on time by e-mail and telephone specially due to the cancelation of my flight, but the fature of the hotel is still for 3 nights, and it's the problem of the travel agency, we are not happy due to this problem."

"The hotel is in need of major renovation which was what they were doing when we stayed at the hotel. The room was ok and the noise from the street was horrendous. The food is ok though. I would definitely recommend not to stay there. Bad experience."

"Excellent location to Ben Thanh markets, and shopping district, restaurants, local sights. Great extras like 1 hour of free internet and laundering of 2 articles of clothing per person, per day, FOC. "
