"our stay at hotel was fairly pleasant, ideal for budget travellers. location is convenient, near to ben thanh market etc.. "

"OVERALL SERVICE IS GOOD"

"The Saigon Star is quite a tired hotel in need of a refurb. There's nothing wrong with it but you can get far far better hotels for less money in a better location. Plus points were the reasonable breakfast and nice view from the rooftop bar for a sundowner. An ok hotel but it's unlikely I would stay there again."

"Fully paid in advance for a superior accomodation but got a standard room. Never "Saigon Star Hotel" again !!"

"We were not very happy with the hotel. The room was a good size, however it was directly below a loud karaoke bar and the room smelt damp. On the first day, there were ants all over the breakfast table. We did not sleep very well here, so we checked out before we were due to. "

"This is an appalling place! It has an overall tawdry appearance, the staff are offhand and the room was dreadful. There were geckos crawling up the walls and the washbasin had two cold taps. When I queried this at reception I was told to use the jug to heat some water! The jug was the smallest and oldest in Vietnam, took 15 minutes to boil and 3 jugfulls were needed to have a decent shave. Breakfast was substandard and was eaten at tables with dirty tablecloths. In all my travels around Asia, this hotel definitely gets the wooden spoon. Avoid it like the plague!!!"

"I found the Saigon Star Hotel a nice place to stay, the staff very friendly and polite and willing to help you at any times, I strongly recommend this hotel."

"With the exception of a delays getting into my room due to an early arrival at HCMC, I found this hotel to be of a good standard for the price I paid. I found it to be clean, tidy and close to all facilities. The staff were most helpful. I read on previos feedbacks that the karake room was noisy, but I didnt find that (maybe I'm just a heavy sleeper)I would most certainly stay there again....good value for the price"

"This hotel is good enough for budget travellers like me, where we spent most of the time out and only used the hotel for sleeping. Room is clean and breakfast provided is acceptable. The hotel do try to provide a buffet spread with omelette station, fruits, hot dishes, cereals etc. I was told by fellow hotel patrons that the massages may be cheap, but the masseurs kept asking for tips. Other then that, you can take a stroll of about 15mins to get to BentThan Market and another additional 10 mins to town. So it is quite convenient. If too lazy, take a cab - it is really cheap. Trip to town just cost 15000dongs( about US$1). Overall, this hotel is value for money!"
