"The hotel is situated far from the heart of the city and you always need a taxi in order to visit the 1st district with its attractions. But the hotel offers a shuttle service to downtown which does not operate between 1pm and 4pm. We booked an executive room on the 24th floor and during 5am and 11pm you can hear the noise of the pumps of the swimming pool situated on the roof. The staff is friendly and helpful. You must also visit the roof top bar on the 25th floor which is the best one in Saigon."

"While the room was lovely and the breakfast excellent, there was no concierge to help with tours. There was a tour desk for a single company, and while the one tour we booked through it was outstanding, the times did not work well for us for other tours. The bell desk tried to be as helpful as possible, putting us in a taxi to go to another tour/travel agency, but that was kind of a nuisance. The hotel is located in Chinatown in District 5, while the main tourist hotel area is in District 1. However, this hotel has a grocery attached, so that was handy. Overall, it's a lovely hotel, but the lack of concierge was disappointing."

"windsor Plaza hotel is located in Cholon, district 5. From airport, check that METER is working, approx.100K dong ( though the taxi drivers will demand 600K dong because....very far, traffic, bullshitetc). Nice hotel, great breakfast with the best view from the rooftop bar and pool. This alone is an excellent reason fro staying here.Best value 5* hotel in Saigon"

"It is a good hotel but suited apparently for the business traveller as it is a fair distance from the sites a holiday maker would be after.Better hotels for us would have been the Rex or the Caravelle,Sheraton. These hotels were close to the heart of the city whereas the Windsor was miles away accessible by a 3/4 hourly shuttle or taxi xab. One taxi trip destined to take us to see the Australian Ladies Soccer Team play Japan saw us drive for 40 minutes only to eventually persuade the drive to return us to the hotel so we could try a different cab.The 2nd trip to the oval was about 10 minutes, but we missed most of the 1st half of the game. This occurred even though we had written address from the hotel staff which 2 nights before got us to the oval for an earlier game. The hotel site advertised airport transfer both pick up & drop off. We were picked up but when we sought drop off they asked $12US per person as they "had changed at the end of May" although we had booked in February,2008."

"We organised a girls shopping trip and there were 3 of us in an executive room. We found the service very good. Free pick up & transfers from air port was a plus. The location is a bit out of the way with respect to the main shopping area, however there is a free shuttle down there & back every 45mins so it's not hassel. Also whlie we were there it was my birthday and on the day the Hotel surprised me with a birthday cake! It was really special, above and beyond! I would recomend the Windsor Plaza, good value for money"

"This is my third trip to Ho Chi Minh city and the third hotel that I have tried. I am afraid to say I was not impressed contrary to the almost excellent guests review rating. The environment lacks warmth. There is really nothing that needs highlighting and I find everything just ordinary; the room, the food, the faicilities, the service, cleanliness etc.. Nothing stands out. Forgettable experience."
