| "A beautiful set up in a secluded part of the beach (away from the other big resorts). The restaurant had the most amazing food, a highlight of the stay. More expensive than others in the area, the price matches the quality of facilities and service (you get what you pay for). The facilities are well maintained and the grounds are immaculate. About an hours walk from the town it makes for a great couples get away. If you make the effort of going to Phu Quoc, La Veranda is well worth a visit (if only to eat in the restaurant). Whilst in Phu Quoc don't miss Soa beach - a secluded beach with amazing white sand - a must see!" |

| "The reason we didn't give this a 5/5 rating is that we arrived at La Veranda after staying 3-days at the Golden Sand Resort in Hoi An where we had a lovely large suite ON the beach for $30/day less than our smaller room with a garden view. That right there set us up for disappointment because the Golden Sand was the ultimate.
It's not that we didn't like La Veranda; it is just that for the price ($280/night), we felt we didn't get the value that we had experienced at the Golden Sand.
Our room as adequate in size and we had a nice veranda but it was looking at a garden and another block of rooms. There are very few rooms with a beach view. Every night when we got back to our room after dinner, we found a yummy dessert waiting on our night stands - what a treat that was!
The bathroom was a problem in that the shower leaked water onto the floor with every shower because of the way the glass doors were installed. There was also a bad odor coming from the sink.
Check-in was very efficient; the staff is friendly and helpful, and many speak English very well.
The beach area had plenty of chairs. There was no one asking if you want anything to eat/drink which we thought was odd but not a big deal. I think if you wanted something they would bring it to you but you had to ask for the service. The beach has few to no rocks in front of the hotel so getting in/out of the water is easy.
The pool area is nice but we didn't sit there at all. Too many kids for us - we don't have them so we prefer to steer clear of them.
The restaurant is beautiful - on the second floor overlooking the beach and the pool. You have to climb a big staircase to get to the dining room - not sure if there is an elevator for anyone that cannot do the steps. It is a very relaxing setting. We had dinner there one night - it was the most formal dinner we had on our entire trip but not stuffy formal. We thought the food was very good, nice presentation and reasonably priced. You can sit on the lawn above the beach as well for dinner.
Breakfast is served in the same restaurant. It is supposed to start at 6:30 AM but the two times we got there at 6:30, they were not set up and we had to eat whatever they had out. I suggest they either get the food out by 6:30 or change the time to later. Everyone was running around like it was a fire drill.
There are a lot of inexpensive restaurants up and down the beach which is where we ate all lunches and dinners -- great food and it was nice to just walk out onto the beach and find a place to eat.
The hotel is not close to town so you need to take a taxi. I did take the hotel car to the Australian Pearl Farm which was about 6 kms away -- it was $15 round trip! I thought that was very steep but was told that outside the hotel is would be $12 each way so . . .
Internet on three computers was free. We did not use the spa or do a tour with them. Laundry service was about the same price as other places we stayed at.
Hope this is helpful.

| "Very nice hotel but you can feel rather trapped, particularly during rainy season when there isn't a lot else open. Service was excellent but limited choice for food, and although it always sounded wonderful on the menu, I found the food to be mediocre." |

| "We have a very nice time in La Veranda resort. The staff is very nice. The rooms is beautiful. The services is very good. Breakfast is really nice.
Highly recommend to anyone special with family who want a nice beach holiday.
However the check out procedure is terrible slow. We were asked to return the laundry bags which we store out dirty cloths, if we have a plastic available in the room, it could be useful or a souvenir laundry bag from the resort will remind us about the resort for a long time:)
Hope you will improve this in the next time we return.
Cheers,
NTTN" |

| "I stayed at a Garden Villa for 4 nights in Dec. 06. The room was ok (shower only), staff very friendly and helpful but unfortunately some major works were going on during my stay (drilling for building up a fence & poll bar) so it was not particularly quiet. Breakfast and restaurant average while the spa had a 5* prices for a 3* service. Also, management not responsive at all when stuff went missing from my room twice!!!
It is well located at the Long beach where the rest of the hotels are and probably the best thing was a sort of private dining area next to the beach (accessible from non-guests as well though).
Overall, I wouldn't come back as for that price I have had far more better service and value for money in Vietnam." |
