We were given a small room with no windows. The room was warm. The air-conditioning had been turned off and we had to ring the front desk to have it turned on. We were given a fan instead, which was O.K., but we had no fresh air in the room. For the money we paid, we expected a bit better.[...]

The room was much smaller than what we expected with no windows. We were hardly in the hotel so we could made do with the room size. But the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, provided us with much help and information. The good thing about the breakfast spread was that it was changed everyday. The room was large and extremely comfortable with a very good rate, inclusive of a nice buffet breakfast. It was a short 10-15m walk to the city centre, quite conveniently located. The Scarlet is a very nice, romantic hotel located near the center of Chinatown. It´s interieur is very special. Our room was small but very nice and clean. I have booked 2rooms. Very very disappointing. Room is smelly, dirty and very run down. Bath room also not in good shape, water leak and the bath room flood. The moment I step into the room, I feel like myself staying in some motel. The class maybe equivalent to "high class hotel" in low cost country. Definitely not worth the money paid. What a wonderful experience...great hotel and the service couldn't be better even when dealing with unusual situations...the staff is the hotel's main quality...everyone does their job and more with a smile on their face...Managers should be proud of thei team...Will surelly be back to this hotel next time in Phuket. Basically, the location of this hotel is excellent! It is like just 10mins walk to Wangfujing and 5mins walk to the train station (tiananmen dong or wangfujing station). With less than USD30 per night, this hotel is value for money and a good choice for budget travelers. The room and bathroom are clean, which is kinda unexpected with the price we've paid.
