Overpriced
At least in the standard rooms the advised makeover appears to not include much more than a new TV and MP3 player. The rooms while perfectly liveable and clean are not aging gracefully and the building except for the foyer felt a bit neglected. A bit disipointing for the Asia rooms price and it would be downright shocking if you paid their list price. On the plus side the staff are lovely and the position is excellent if you want close access to Roma or Central station, Roma Park or Brisbane city. Public parking is availble next to the hotel free overnight (reverts to paid during weekdays) so you don't have to pay the $20 undercover charges. Hardwired internet $0.55 a minute capped at ~$23 a day.

very pleasant stay. meals excellent. staff very friendly & helpful. Would have been handy to know about the springhill loop bus as the walk to town was pretty strenuous for seniors! Was not impressed with the lateness of the coach door to door transport though despite giving them our flight time departure we would probably have missed our flight if the plane had not been delayed

I had a trouble booking with this...
I had a trouble booking with this hotel at the first time, but the front desk was so kind to book another hotel. The stay here was a good experience, had a good view of night Brisbane city.

We liked the central position of the...
We liked the central position of the GCH near the city. We enjoyed the kindness of the staff, especially Jo. The room was quite comfortable. The only thing we could not enjoy was the noisy traffic in the streets below.
